12th Street

Several large mature grape vines extending the length of the garden above an old iron arbor created a wonderful starting point for this garden. We restored the arbor, brought a new pergola to the rear to increase privacy and provide a home for an existing wisteria vine (formerly tangled with the grape). We brought in a new cedar fence, including a 12' swinging cedar gate to provide for the flexible use of the driveway as a connected entertaining and work area.

Much of the remaining garden was filled with a variety of cottage garden plants structured around a patio, a raised bed for vegetables and a curving pebble path. Our client on this project loves plants and wanted to bring many of her favorites to the space. Included in this project is a front garden with blueberries, juneberries, grasses, lavendar and two dramatic yuccas.
